STICKFAST LANE SITE

This is our main flying site and is located as follows :

From Key Street roundabout on A2 turn north into Sheppey Way (old A249),Turn LEFT to Bobbing Village (Adjacent to McDonalds) and continue through Bobbing village (old A249).Turn LEFT at second turning into Stickfast Lane (sign posted LowerHalstow/Upchurch) Proceed to end, at 'T' junction turn RIGHT, Proceed approx 300yds to  farm gate on the right. Co-ordinates for Stickfast lane are :          East:    0.70179  North: 51.36887                                                        
                                                                                                                                   
MEET AMBULANCE AT THE TOP GATE. Nearest Public telephone is in Iwade, outside  village hall. Turn right out of main gate proceed approx 2 miles to Iwade centre   turn right and telephone is approx 50yds on the left.
Nearest Hospital with daytime casualty dept is SITTINGBOURNE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL at Bell Road Sittingbourne.

HARTY FERRY SITE

Our second site is now  near Harty Ferry  on Sheppey. You will need a key to the Harty site now . These are supplied on request (£10 refundable deposit ) as this site is used mainly for gliders , gliding competitions and Free flight events .

Proceed over the Kingsferry Bridge or Sheppey Crossing to Cowstead Corner roundabout turn RIGHT onto the B2231, towards Leysdown for approx 3 miles. At Eastchurch Roundabout turn RIGHT to next roundabout then Straight a head, on the B2231 down the hill towards Leysdown approx  3/4 of a mile you will see a sign for the Ferry Inn at Harty, turn right towards Harty. The flying field is situated approx 2 1/2  miles on the left ( you should see a sign “Raptor viewing Point) Drive in and through gate Locking it behind you  . Glider Field #2 E. 00.91269 deg N, 51.38184 deg .

If you wish to enter from the Leysdown end  Then continue along the B2231 Through Leysdown and turn right into Park Lane. The road gives way to a well made track, then directly onto the field use following co-ordinates
East:000.91692deg North:051.38932deg Nearest public phone Corner of The Promenade and Leysdown Road, Leysdown. Opposite the Rose & Crown Pub

 MEET AMBULANCE AT THE GATE / JUNCTION WITH LANE

Nearest Hospital with daytime Casualty dept is the new SHEPPEY GENERAL at BARTON HILL DRIVE. Proceed back towards the Kings Ferry Bridge /Sheppey Crossing . At traffic lightsat junction of Lower road and Barton Hill Drive  turn RIGHT. Proceed to the top of the hill and turn Right at the roundabout .Hospital is straight ahead.

Please lock all gates at flying fields behind you When you enter and when you leave.

 A First Aid kit can be found at Stickfast Lane  attached to the peg board . This is stored in the port-a-loo and the combination lock has the same combination as the field gate. Please inform a committee members if you have to use the kit so that it can be replenished . No First aid kit is supplied at the Harty site . Please make sure you have one of your own in your car
