Island Doddington Pantomime 6th 7th & 8th December 2002
The 4th Doddington Panto was an adaption of Robert Louis Stevensons book 'Treasure Island' by Alistair Clinton, See this and my other pantomime scripts except with cannibal Indians and a cheese loving Ben Gunn, Oh yes and no treasure just, "Its chocolate you wally".
ARTICLES
OF PANTO (From the Programme)Shiver me timbers and pipe me truss. You 'ere land lubbers have been press ganged into His Majesty's vessel of old jokes 'The Doddington Panto' Gawd bless her and all who sail in her. You're all press-ganged for the duration of hostilities, about 2 hours of suffering & scurvy.Any attempts at desertion will result in flogging with the 'Cat O' one tails'. (We looked everywhere for a cat with nine tails but couldn't find one anywhere). Our cat for tonight is a ginger tom called 'fluffykins'.Welcome aboard shipmates we set sail for the new world with treasure galore
ARTICLES
1. Failure to obey a senior officer (ushers) will result in being
forced to watch a 2nd performance - no parole.
2. Not booing in the face of the enemy (the pirates) is punishable by being
strung up by the bell-bottoms
3. Not laughing at jokes (no matter how bad) is a capital offence, Punishable
by death by 'A'ddock a la Hawkins. (Gruesome)
4. Not joining in 'Oh yes it is' and 'Oh no it isnt's' is contrary to Admiralty
regulations and the penalty is bottom scraped of barnacles
& treated for wood worm.
5. Members of the crew not joining in sing -a-long songs will have their main
mast re-stepped and trailing rigging thrown overboard.
6.
Singing yo-ho-ho in a slovenly manner, 15 lashes from fluffykins tail and a
stern talking too!.
7. Failure to clap at the end of each scene is a major offence and penalty is
a swift kick in the futtocks.
8. Anything else may result in having your dentures thrown overboard and your
underwear used as a spinnaker.
