Used in relation to engines short for Aluminum, Brass, and Chrome as materials used in the construction of non-ringed engines. Where the engines use an aluminium piston, a chrome or nickel plated brass sleeve. A tighter fit is achieved between piston and cylinder which makes the engine more efficient. However the engine is harder to turn over as a result and these engines must be 'run in' for optimum performance.
