Deadstick

When a powered model aeroplane's engine cuts in flight (usually unexpectedly) it is known as being 'deadstick' . The pilot has to make the best of the models gliding abilities to make a safe landing. When flying with other pilots it is usual to call out 'deadstick' to make others aware of your predicament and to leave the landing area clear for you.
