Doddington School PTFA
has a long history of excellent service to the school. it has engendered
tremendous support and enthusiasm from parents, staff and friends to make a
vital contribution to the life of the school, in providing social and
educational support and much needed fundraising.
Previous events have included:
Wine and Wisdoms, Christmas bazaars, Easter cake sales,
boot fairs,
school discos, dog shows and many more.
The PTFA runs an annual
Summer Fun Day, which this year included a highly successful balloon race
sponsored by Woolworths, besides the usual pony rides, bouncy castle, barbecue
and lots of stalls and games.
The PTFA also shares the organisation of the
annual Doddington Bonfire and Fireworks display which attracts huge crowds from
well beyond the local area.
The PTFA undertakes to fund the running costs of the swimming pool, which is a great asset to the school. It organises a rota of parents to enable use of the pool during summer holidays. As the pool area has been established for some years it is currently in need of some renovation work, and this is the focus of current fundraising efforts.
The PTFA is also pleased to promote the social aspect of school life in providing refreshments for sports day, and after special assemblies. It organises clear-up days in the school grounds when necessary and seeks to offer other support as needed.
