On Saturday the 2nd September Doddington School played host to the first
ever school reunion, with over 80 guests in attendance. The guests included ex
pupils and staff, some of which had made the return journey back to Doddington
especially to be at the reunion.
The eldest of those ex pupils was Kittie
Elvy who can remember the days when a Register of punishments was used to
record, misdemeanours and the penalties of getting caught for being
naughty!

One ex pupil Bobby Paul made the incredible journey from Brisbane in Australia to be at the reunion. Other guests came from Derbyshire (Jim Fisher) and Dorset (Dave Coles). |

The evening was attended by the press and a group photograph was taken by the East Kent Gazette, a full coverage will appear in the next edition.
An address was given by Mr Henry Cuthbert, to thank Les Roberts, and myself for our parts in organising such a successful event. Les was my main contact in the village due to his ideal location at the Garage, and if an ex pupil come in for petrol Les would thrust a Gazette or my contact telephone number in their hand. Thanks also went to the Headmistress Mrs Sharon Day for allowing the school to be used for the evening.
The evening was the brain child of Graham Cottington who back in April decided it would be a good idea to organise such an event, after a brief chat with some old Doddonians, (Janet,Sandra Pat and Eileen) the seed was planted and the plans were put into motion. A Gazette was published by Graham and sent to all the persons who he was in contact with, then those people in turn contacted their friends and so the net unfolded and the news spread. Each guest was asked to contribute a plate of nibbles and to bring some liquid refreshment, the only thing left was to come along and enjoy the evening. Everyone wore a name badge to identify themselves and the rest is History ! GUEST LIST
This list may not be 100% complete as some guests may have
